Besides the obvious reason of decapitation, why a machete? My preference would be a crowbar. It has multiple common uses such as prying, chipping, breaking into places, anchoring a climbing rope, as well a being a sturdy bludgeoning weapon. Granted, a crowbar in one hand and a machete in the other would look awesome (though perhaps not to efficient).
A crowbar is blunt, and thus will cause more splattering of infected tissue.
What car would you use to keep yourself away from the zombies? What weapons?
Good question. We opt for machete’s and bladed weapons as they are quiet and never run out of ammo!
Alright...
So me and a friend are having an argument about what a decent weapons set up would be for the Zombie Apocalypse.
I believe that a larger firearm (such as an assault rifle), a smaller firearm(such as a sub-machine gun), a blade of some sort (like a machete or axe, or sword) and some kind of multi-talented tool (like a crow-bar, tire iron, or a pickaxe)
would be an Ideal set of weapons. Yes some of it could get heavy like the lassault rife and sword, but with modern technologys im sure a lightweight version of anything could be found.
Now his mentality is "Strictly Guns". He thinks an assault rifle, a shotgun, and two pistols will do it.
I strongly dissagree. The wight of carrying all of that ammo would be almost unbearable. I understand that in my plan i have to carry ammo but i have back up weapons. he does not. AND i have the multi-tool which will allow me to enter buldings, clear debris and whatnot.
So can u please tell us what u think? Who's weapon set is better?
YOU are correct. You must have a diverse zombie fighting array of tools and weapons. You cannot rely on one source of defense. Be smart, be aware, be nimble, be deadly.
Everyone talks about weapons but what about armor. i think vambraces shin guards, gloves, masks, and goggles are essential
Armor, of course, is essential. But you don’t want to be weighed down by too much crap. We suggest kevlar. Also, these gloves are pretty awesome for zombie punching:

With all this talk of the Zombie Apocalypse and the weapons to be used, I would like to know something from you guys.
Realistically, what would your plan of attack and defence be in the event of the zombie apocalypse? What I'm asking is, how would YOU survive with the things you have access to.
Okay, we dig the vibe of your question. So, let’s work together: hey everyone, tell us how YOU would survive a zombie apocalypse. Rules: normal Romero zombies. Time: Now. You have: only what you have now, and your wits.

How would you survive the inevitable zombie apocalypse?
Entirely agreed about the chainsaw. It's good, nay essential, to have at least one weapon that is silent and doesn't require ammunition/fuel. My person pick is a small axe or hatchet due to it's maneuverability in limited space and its versatility with respect to alternate uses (firewood, cutting rope, hammering, etc).
I've read too many zombie books... :|
Oh, so what are your favorite zombie books? We have our favorites, but would love to know yours.
Any pics of your weapons for the Zombie Apocalypse? I know my household is ready when shit pops offffff

Say the Left For Dead type scenario happened. What weapons would you prefer to use and why? (You're uninfectable but they can still kill you)
While we generally prefer the enduring weapon such as an ax or hammer, there’s a great list here: http://www.zombiesurvivalwiki.com/
