A blunt instrument (crowbar) could also cause internal damage which would lessen the chance of spreading infected tissue, whereas decapitation and the like would provide many methods of contamination (all of the lovely bodily fluids that would be released). Not to mention that a machete would have to be kept sharp for maximum efficiency. Although proper headgear would reduce contamination via splatter immensely.

You make some very solid points and while we may agree on a few of the minor points, we appreciate your train of thought. A crowbar needs far less maintenance and can kill zombies with a blunt precision.
Certainly the best weapons in Zombie killing are Chainsaws, Semi-auto shotgun, and a 44 magnum revolver.
At least, those would be my choices.

We disagree about the chainsaw. Have you ever run a chainsaw? They’re big, heavy, hard to wield, and run out of gas quickly.
You keep your chainsaw and guns, we’re going with the Katana.
In my opinion guns should really only be a last ditch effort type weapon. Unless you have access to a silencer they're really loud and ammo is always limited. A long blade or something similar is better in the long run.

We agree. Guns can help, but eventually munitions run out. That, and guns breed laziness. We think that this sick-ass double-handed Katna is a pretty rad zombie-killing tool.
