Step 1. Run to shops close to my house as soon as I hear about it and stack up on water and non-perishables.
Step 2. Go home and board up everything, wait it out while making weapons. Get as much water as I can before the water lines get turned off.
Step 3. (This is all with my mum and sister) After the majority of people have been turned, get on bikes and straight to the nearest hardware store (these things are HUGE and easily defendable)
Step 4. Stock up on weapons and volunteers, then move onto to the nearest abandoned jail.
Step 5. Radio in help, raid nearby stores and plant crops.
Audio Undead: World War Z Podcast Pt. 1 - ‘New Beginnings’
Zombies are the new black, due to the success of AMC’s kick-ass series ‘The Walking Dead’. The genre, however, has been percolating as a rising medium for years. The audio podcast Max Brooks’ wonderful zombie book ‘World War Z’ is a great introduction to the genre. The podcast - far more akin to an audio play - has been available for free since the book’s release in 2006 and features several chapters of the book. The audiobook and podcast is read by a recognizable cast of characters including Alan Alda, Henry Rollins, Mark Hammill.
Podcast Description from iTunes:
The Zombie War came unthinkably close to eradicating humanity. Max Brooks, driven by the urgency of preserving the firsthand experiences of the survivors from those apocalyptic years, traveled across the world, from decimated cities to the most remote and inhospitable areas of the planet. He recorded the testimony of men, women, and sometimes children who came face-to-face with the living, or at least the undead, hell of that dreadful time. World War Z is the result. These podcasts are excerpted from this invaluable chronicle and capture the haunting immediacy of this epochal event. Available for download from iTunes.com or Audible.com/zombie. “The survivors are trapped in their fortress, trying to find a way out.
Come back August 30th for Part 2!”
About We’re Alive
A small riot in LA has spread past its containment. Three reserve soldiers are called to their deserted duty station. Believed to be the last remaining armed servicemen in the area, Michael, Angel, and Saul witness the true cause of the riot; people are starting to change and attack each other. Armed with only what they can carry, they set out to secure an apartment building and rescue survivors scattered amongst the shattered remains of civilization. In a world turned upside down, every day is a struggle, as those who have taken refuge in “the tower” find out that their safe haven is under constant threat. In this place, however, the strengths of those who stand together, might just be enough to live long enough to see things start to change.

It goes by many names: “The Crisis,” “The Dark Years,” “The Walking Plague,” as well as newer and more “hip” titles such as “World War Z” or “Z War One.” I personally dislike this last moniker as it implies an inevitable “Z War Two.” For me, it will always be “The Zombie War,” and while many may protest the scientific accuracy of the word zombie, they will be hardpressed to discover a more globally accepted term for the creatures that almost caused our extinction. Zombie remains a devastating word, unrivaled in its power to conjure up so many memories or emotions, and it is these memories, and emotions, that are the subject of this book…Read the full interview
